Learn about gravity and addition with a gravity drop. Create tubes from laminated black glitter paper and magnetic strips to a magnet board. Practice dropping aluminum foil ‘meteoroids’ down through your outer space tubes to create craters below. See how many craters it creates on the moon below (an empty cardboard drink carrier or a small kinetic sandbox). You can wrap real rocks for a heavier feel and compare the wadded up aluminum foil. Which moves faster? What would an actual rock feel like with less gravity on the moon?
Also on the magnet board, create a maze with magnet tiles. Drop a marble and see if you can move the pieces so the marble lands in the bin below.
