Explore how the body uses sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch through hands-on experiments and sensory activities. Children will also experience what it is like to rely on individual senses or temporarily lose one sense to better understand how perception works. This unit connects the senses to body awareness and introduces simple ideas like symmetry through observation and exploration.
Explore emotions as both feelings and physical sensations in the body through music, art, and dramatic play. Children will identify and express different emotions, create simple Valentine-themed activities and treats, and practice early data skills through basic graphing and sorting activities.
Explore light and shadow through hands-on experiments like silhouettes and shadow tracing. This unit also includes themed activities such as special breakfasts, learning about groundhogs, and exploring Groundhog’s Day traditions in Pennsylvania and around the world.
