The dollar tree Christmas village pieces are such a cheap and pretty alternative to spending thousands of dollars. They light up and are so cute under the tree. A perfect place to play as a kid, but sometimes they don’t quite match our Christmas decor theme. I used white acrylic paint mixed with water to douse the pieces in. (This could’ve been a much cleaner process with some newspaper!) I painted school glue on the tops and added chunky glitter. They look so magical after their makeover and were such a cute surprise on Christmas morning. Add a train and some styrofoam presents and this is a magical way to learn about communities and transporting.
